Will Donald Trump testify on paper, again? Or will he testify in person to clear his name?

Quote:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump faced two deadlines in Congress on Sunday as Democrats prepared to shift the focus of their impeachment inquiry from fact-finding to the consideration of possible charges of misconduct over his dealings with Ukraine.

The Democratic-led House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, tasked with considering charges known as articles of impeachment, has given the president until 6 p.m. EST (2300 GMT) on Sunday to say whether he or his legal counsel will participate in an impeachment hearing on Wednesday.

The dems will try to impeach Trump over the next five years and go down as the dumbest losers in history.

Trump hasn't been accused of anything. So there's nothing to clear. Furthermore.....

Those aren't Trump's "deadlines". But I get that you don't question what a teevee pundit might say about it, without question or thought.

Democrats have not invoked any constitutional impeachment proceeding which compels the President to do anything.

Not sure he will be required to testify at all at this stage.

If he agrees to send attorneys to defend his positions regarding what's the bar for impeachable offenses and whether his conduct met the bar for impeachment, he legitimizes a process he's been trying to portray as illegitimate.

If he doesn't send anyone, he passes on the opportunity to defend himself, and the process moves ahead without him.

Neither scenario is a winner for Trump, but refusing to participate has the added disadvantage of him looking weak and afraid with no legal argument to stand on.

Are you kidding? Trump is playing this masterfully. He does nothing and........
  • Democrats are forced to put impeachment to the vote on the floor. This opens up the spectre of a actual trial in the Senate where they will be constitutionally required to testify under oath if Trump desires it. They will be destroyed in the process along with Joe Biden & co. A political disaster for them.
  • Democrats don't impeach because they are absolutely afraid of the above. A political disaster for them.
They have boxed themselves into a corner where they can't win. Trump is going to ruin them in the process.

Donald Trump perfectly described Hillary's situation in 2017 with pinpoint accuracy. He claimed that "Crooked Hillary Clinton is the worst (and biggest) loser of all time. She just can’t stop, which is so good for the Republican Party."

That was in 2017. Today, that described the democratic party as a whole. The dimwits are following in dear leader Hillary's footsteps as being the worst (and biggest) losers in all of America. Their childish act has run it's course. By now, the American people know fully well that these losers think Americans are as stupid, and as big of losers as they are. The American people are livid and fuming with rage at the absolute arrogance and stupidity put on display by the jackass party, all in an effort to manipulate and swindle them of their vote.

There can be no question at this point, that the dimcrap party has essentially set in stone their epic defeat in 2020. It will be a blowout victory for Trump, because dimcrap hate is going to be met with equal or greater rage and disgust from the voting American public. Democrats still have no concept how badly they miscalculated the public when they pushed for this impeachment nonsense against queen Pelosi's better judgement. You folks should have listened, but since you didn't, America is going to be even greater when Trump is finished with his two terms. Thanks again dims.

I hope dems continue the constant distraction of impeachment theater until the 2020 election. It won't move the needle to their side one bit. Cmon dems, hold the vote on articles of impeachment. Do it. Let's get this senate trial started. I dare you.

My, what an eccentric performance.
