One reader writes a letter to a newspaper. Big deal. So stay home.

I fail to see how one letter-to-the-editor writer to the Toronto Star speaks for "many" or even "most Canadians." Especially when there are many flights between Canadian and American airports daily, land border crossings are constantly busy, and passenger ferries and trains cross the border daily. How many Canadians is "many Canadians" to this letter writer? Three? Ten? Two hundred?

I don't know anybody who refuses to visit the US because of Mr. Trump. Friends and family have enjoyed vacations there during his presidency. I certainly have; at least five of them since Mr. Trump was elected. It is true that a few have said, "I'd really like to take my family to Disney World [or Las Vegas or New York City or wherever], but I cannot because...." Remarks like that usually end up with the reason for not visiting the US being more due to cost than anything else. At any rate, at least among my friends, family, and colleagues, the reason for not visiting never seems to involve Mr. Trump.

I'd really like to know "how many is many" to this letter writer.

90% of them live within 100 miles of the US border.

They are full of crap. They will not give up their annual migration to Florida.

All they do is safety pin Canadian flag patches to their backpacks when touring the United States.

Wait. What? Maybe I'll cut back on the Tim Horton's coffee.

I'll bet those in the hospitality industry would like that 22 billion.

Ten percent of Canadians.....winter in the US.

Go to Florida, Texas, or Arizona in January and view the pale, white whales from the north outside their native habitat.

Yep, they don't like Trump or the USA, but love our weather.
