... the lawsuit that Nunes has filed will go nowhere.
I don't know if it's going anywhere or not because or the protections afforded CNN but it should not be very difficult to prove one way or the other for either side. International travel is not something you can easily hide.
That aside CNN's story is based on second hand knowledge of a single person that was passed to them by his lawyer. This rises to the level of something that can be published?
Protections afforded the media are important but given the race to be the first in instant news and hyper partisanship of many media news organizations it's something that really needs to be revisited.

And CNN has records that show that they reached out to Nunes for comment before publishing the story.
This story has him meeting a key figure in the impeachment proceedings in a foreign city. That's a pretty explosive accusation and if you cannot confirm it then it should not be published.

You've misread the story. The story is that Parnas, someone who has been charged with crimes, has stated that Nunes met with the ousted Ukrainian prosecutor. Parnas is a newsworthy subject. His statements are newsworthy. CNN reports the news. Nunes is suing CNN to get attention. His lawsuit is garbage. He should pursue libel charges against Parnas. But CNN reporting Parnas' claims is CNN doing their job.
Nunes needs to be held accountable for so many frivolous lawsuits. He is using his political influence to continue to file these baseless lawsuits. He is the face of the declining GOP party. Reagan would be embarrassed to know he left his party to the Bush and Trump crime family.
Nunes is most likely a crook like his other CA. Republicans....everything from arson to whoring to misusing campaign funds in that crowd.
Many in the GOP seem to approve of crooks. This is quite evident. But they have to be "GOP or Right Wing" crooks.
