Nunes had enough district advantage to win his seat for the first time in 2003, and the district is solid conservative, so for the next 7 elections, Nunes cruised in with nothing but token opposition.
But in 2018, he squeaked out a 5 point win when he once won by 18 to 20 points. In 2020, his old district 2will be re-districted, and he'll lose his home base of farmers, the guys who have always carried him through.
It promises to be a tough year for Devin ahead. 2 Democrats and 1 Republican are all running against him for his spot in Congress in a district that was hit hard by Trump's tariffs.
