If a politician tells people they shouldn't be poor, that's fine.

If Osteen tells people they shouldn't be poor, then he's a scammer.

Not commenting directly on the message, but why is it OK for one, but not the other? Just because God is in the equation?

Why aren't both scammers?

But from the very Bible he preaches from, didn't Jesus said we will always have the poor among you.

As if being poor wasn't bad enough now he wants them to feel bad for not bringing honor to God?

Why is this even here? Shouldn’t this be in the religious forum?

Prosperity gospel. God will judge if Joel is right or wrong.

If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

Jesus

Just another reason to TAX THE CHURCH. it’s a shame they have such lavish lifestyles on the backs of their congregation. Wonder what this guy is qualified to do other than scam people.

And Jesus lived a simple humble lifestyle. Like he rode into Jerusalem on a lowly donkey, instead of beautiful horse.

People like Osteen should be ashamed to call themselves Christian. I wonder what Jesus would say about multi-millionaire preachers.

(I don't think that he would approve.)

Some people are blessed with the ability to be great speakers or orators, so they figure why not get paid for it. Not everyone is led by God or the Holy Spirit to do this, it's just an easy way to make a living for some of them. Lots of fake pastors out there, and that have always been the case.
