Is the impeachment all about the health of RBG?

No, it is not.

The President of the United States has decided that our national sovereignty is less significant than his own political performance.

The solicitation of a foreign national or government to help a campaign IS a crime. All you have to do is ASK and it is a crime. The law is that foreign nationals are not allowed to participate in our elections and that includes campaigns.

For impeachment no quid pro quo is required. This kind of corruption that sullies the interest of the United States based on the President's own political campaign is a classic high crime and misdemeanor and exactly the kind of abuse of office that the framers had in mind when they gave the House the power to impeach and the Senate the power to remove.

Trump tried to get Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 elections. All arguments to let the voters decide fail because Trump is trying to interfere with that vote. He would not be president without Russian interference and now he's tried to get Ukraine and China to interfere in American elections. These are crimes. Trump should be impeached and removed.

He will be impeached IMHO, but there will not be enough Republican Senators concerned about national security to do the right thing for this country.

The impeachment is all about the health of this Republic.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I'd say that's one of the hot factors. But they've been trying to impeach President Trump ever since he first took office. Actually they were trying to impeach him even before he took office.

They also know that there is absolutely no dem that's going to beat him in this upcoming election. They know that. So they've fast-tracked this impeachment scam in their final attempt at preventing President Trump from running in 2020.

This impeachment attempt is their hail Mary. 2 seconds left on the clock in the forth quarter. Republicans are ahead. The dems are at their own 10 yard line at 4th and 20. They are throwing that ball all the way down to the next end zone and hoping one of their people gets lucky and makes the catch. It's their last chance.

Pelosi has burned the boats and shot off the last of their ammunition. They will be defenseless against the Trump onslaught of justice.
They will all have to announce for the 2020 election so they can have immunity. Worked for Joe so far.

I DK.

No certainty, RBG will pass or resign, any time soon.

No certainty who will win the Democrat nomination.

No certainty who will be elected 11 months from now.

If RBG was a true partisan, she would have resigned early in Obama’s second term.

Instead, because she couldn't give up her position/status, she is now desperately clinging to a sickly life, probably letting her staff do most of her work, and possibly thinking, hoping to hang on until after the next election, or January 20, 2021. I wish her a happy life, what is left. I hope that she is not suffering because of her political leanings. Maybe, once the impeachment is fully underway, she will feel comfortable in stepping down.

Assuming that Republicans are moral and ethical, they would say a SCOTUS vacancy should be decided after the next election, right? The People should decide. That is what they said about Obama's appointment.

Well, being as Scalia worked until he fell over I wouldn't be so concerned about Justices holding on for dear life.

But, anyway, the GOP is moral and ethical and they wouldn't want a unpopular POTUS in his last year making an appointment, right?
