Don't expect the same performance OR lifespan from any newer appliance. Got rid of a 30 year old Bosch dishwasher that used to clean everything wonderfully on a 20 minute cycle time and then dry everything completely within another 20 minutes. The newer Bosch takes a full hour wash cycle to do the same satisfactory job and no matter how long you leave the thing, even using the x-tra dry cycle there's water sitting on cup bottoms.
Sign of the times, this obsessing over energy wastage with everyone having no choice but to go along with paying more for worse results.
The projected useful life of every newer appliance, no matter where manufactured or price point is stunningly low, by design. Oftentimes the manufacturer only makes x replacement parts. The US was the first country to employ the strategy of contrived durability to encourage buying new.
Designs seem to have improved, but when they were first forced into existence via legislation, they were horrible.
Much the same way as early emissions standards in the 70's made cars worse.....less powerful and less reliable.
10 flushes?
No, that's clearly an exaggeration.
But needing 2 or 3 flushes to get everything down was pretty common.
Oh yeah, that's true.
But I haven't encountered one of those for a long time.
A bistro I occasionally patronize has a water-efficient toilet that is amazing. When it's flushed, the water gushes into the bowl like it's coming from a firehose. It also has low and high flush buttons.
I only need to flush mine once, but I could flush a bus down my toilet.
I am seeing the problem trump has now! He is trying to flush Rudy and others down under the bus!
