This guy continues to impress. He's only 39 years old. I recall when he announced for Senate, I read that his Stanford U. prof (a liberal) said he was one of the half-dozen or so brightest students he'd ever had.

My only quibble with Hawley is that this is nothing new. The FBI under Hoover routinely would collect and feed political oppo research to politicians. FDR was a prime recipient. In turn FDR boosted the FBI budget. The number of FBI agents skyrocketed during his 4 terms as president.
