I am an American citizen in my 80's, who has been retired abroad for twenty years. I have no intention of ever voluntarily returning to the U.S.

My citizenship entitles me to vote, but given both these personal circumstances I don't feel I should be voting in the U.S. elections. I did all the things a "good citizen" was supposed to do politically and socially up until the time I departed. And since departing I have still paid U.S. taxes and contributed to a U.S.-based charity.

Any family I have live in the U.S., and they are old enough to vote and to be involved in the politics of the U.S. They are the ones to attempt to guide the future of the country.

I could vote Republican or Democrat depending on the nominee. I will not vote for Trump or Pence, or any Republican who has supported Trump.

There is a difference. How many Democrats were willing to sell their soul and integrity for Obama?

It seemed like all of them. Or at least, most of them.

I could vote for any intelligent, sensible, stable, open-minded, honest (as politicians go) candidate, either Republican or Democrat. But I probably won't vote in 2020, because, after 2016, I can no longer summon the enthusiasm.

I have voted for both (D's) & (R's) in the past, but find it frequently more difficult to find any moderate (D's) to vote for.
In 2016 the only decent (D) nominee for potus was Jim Webb, and could have voted for him depending on who the (R) nominee was.
However once Hillary got the nomination (stole it as it turns out), any of the 17 (R's) would have been preferable.

So while Trump was not my 1st choice of the 17, he got my vote against who the (D's) put up against him. I certainly voted against Hillary more than anything else.

That said, Trump has grown on me, and while some of his comments/tweets are cringe worthy, he is getting a lot done for the country.
This despite the constant and never ending obstruction by the (D's) and the leftist MSM having daily headlines attacking him.
I actually find myself defending him when I might not otherwise have done so, if not for the constant attacks by those suffering from TDS.

The (D's) do not have a candidate that can even come close to touching Trump in 2020, and he has earned my vote unless something drastic were to occur.

Definitely guilty by association. Not sure what you mean by "profiling Americans."

I compare Trump to Joseph McCarthy. It took almost five years for the Senate to finally wake up and censure McCarthy.
