I really don't care what people on twitter or social media think about anything, indeed they spend their entire lives dedicated to posting outraged tweets and posts, and are outraged by anything and everything.
If we started to ignore social media and just got back on with living out lives the world would be a better place.
As a woman who has been married to the same man for almost 32 years, I watch that ad and all I see is a man who loves his wife and gave her an expensive, trendy item that will make her life easier because she can work out at home instead of having to make time for driving to the gym. She is thrilled with it, not a hint of anger or cynicism, just appreciation. She is trim and adorable, there is no hint that he is trying to fat shame her or hold her to a specific ideal, and they appear to be very happy together.
Sorry gals, you can project your bitterness and hostility onto this ad if you want to, but it still doesn't make it sexist and rotten to the rest of us.
I will never understand the SJW feminazi types who constantly seek out ways to be offended and I thank God that I am not one of them! My mother must have done something right.
Amen, sister! There are indeed sexist commercials out there but I don't see this as being one of them!
I am my wife's trainer, and told her about the Pelaton madness over that ad, and she said anyone who got offended by it has serious issues.
She said the only reason she'd be mad at me for buying one is because there are way cheaper alternatives and she'd rather I buy a more overall useful piece of equipment.
But people read their own issues into stuff like this. It's an overpriced exercise bike. He didn't buy a leg shackle and chain her to the kitchen FFS.
Even if I still lived in the hellish climate of the Rust Belt and had to exercise indoors I wouldn't buy this overpriced inefficient pile of garbage if my life depended on it.
I'd be more offended if I was rich and they thought that I would think this is a good buy.

I'm not sure that having a plus-sized model working out on a Pelaton would have gone over much better. They'd call it an attack on female body image. So who is appropriate? Only guys can be shown working out on a Pelaton?
The question is- were the folks that took offense likely to buy a Peloton in any scenario? If not, why bother listening to them.
With all the legitimate problems in the world, I cannot believe people have time to complain about this dopey commercial.
And whoever came up with the ad laid a bit of an egg as well- why not set up why the woman wanted one? Maybe ten seconds of her trying to lug around kids, a giant $125/month sign at a spin studio, not getting through traffic, not being able to run in the cold. Instead she comes across as some standard issue stereotype of a Becky.
