HELSINKI (Reuters) - Finland will leave the European Union and position itself as the Switzerland of the north to protect its independence if Laura Huhtasaari, the presidential candidate of the eurosceptic Finns Party has her way.

She also told Reuters in an interview she wants to tighten immigration rules.

If this woman wins, watch how quickly the sentiments change!

Maybe because the "feminist" governments that have run Sweden completely into the ground and turned into international joke?

You support Trump, I presume, yet you think you're in a position to hold others accountable for a perceived dereliction of THEIR principles. That's pretty funny.

I'm not a political leader. I'm not the President of the United States. And, anyway, Trump doesn't HAVE any principles.

Ditch the ends, focus on the means.

Your soul will thank you.

Not sure why you think you'd get any argument from me.

Keep in mind -- and I think we've talked about this before -- a Conservative in the UK is not the same as a Republican in the US. As conservative or "right wing" (or however you want to call it) as Thatcher was by British standards, she wouldn't have proposed scrapping the NHS in favor of a completely private system, for example, would she? And I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted that, would you?

But to many US conservatives, the UK, even under Thatcher, is/was a left-wing nanny state with "socialist" healthcare, as is most of Europe. As a long-time poster on CD, you must know this.

Those who protest most vehemently have their knickers in a twist because this news about Finland has frightened them and was a wake up call for them that this can happen not only in other countries but in America too, eventually. Most American men and even some women are positively terrified and shaking in their boots at the very idea of all women as government leaders in any country. And now the looming potential of the equivalent of it one day happening in a future America - yes, it CAN happen ..... plus the strong probability of a female president in the even nearer future - yes, within their lifetimes - (OMG the Horror! THE HORROR !!! ) well, it's got them pooping in their pants and making like monkeys throwing the potty-mouth stuff around online.

You want to know what their fear is really about? It's about a bunch of scaredy cats terrified of maybe having all of their power taken away from them and being subjugated the way it has been done to women for so long. Because men did that, many still do it, they've convinced themselves that women in power will do it to them too. Damn fools.
.
Exactly. In fact, such folks need to be told to stuff it if they don't like it, and get with the program.

Yes, your constitution. Every country has their own constitution, you know. Yours has nothing to do with theirs and yours is meaningless with regard to how the topic at hand might apply to you and your own country. There's nothing in your own constitution that says there can't be or won't ever be an American government made up of a majority or only women. It is entirely possible it could happen. It's also possible that one day the entire planet may be governed by mostly women instead of mostly men the way it is now. If that prospect is something that frightens you then you should know your constitution isn't a shield for you, it can't prevent it from happening in your country.
