Romney got 93% of the vote from self-identified Republicans in 2012.

Then he went on to win election to the Senate by 62.6% in Utah in 2018. I just disproved your point.

Completely over your head.
Not at all, I get what you are trying to say, it's just that you are wrong. The left has moved drastically to the left the past several years, it's a verifiable fact. Just because they've done it before and been called out on it doesn't mean that the objective fact becomes false.

Uh, well, duh, that's because he was the republican nominee. Do you think republicans were gonna mostly vote for the democrat? If you're trying to tell everyone here that Romney isn't these days ridiculed as a "RINO" by a whole lot of republicans I think you need to step off whatever planet you live on and come on down here to planet earth.

No, you clearly do not understand what I'm trying to say. To wit:

"The left has moved drastically to the left the past several years."

That is exactly what people like you were saying 40, 60, 70 and 90 years ago.

What you fail to understand is that it is irrelevant how many times it has been said before, if it is objective fact.....and it is, then it's valid.

People said "Hey, it's raining outside" 40, 60, 70, and 90 years ago too, does that mean that it can't be raining outside?

You have to realize how laughably fallacious your "logic" is here.

Romney actually got a significantly higher pct. of GOP voters than Trump did in 2016. I know several life-long Republicans who refused to vote for Trump in 2016. But they all now say that they will vote for him in 2020.

Romney's problem is that the party moved to embrace Trump due to his conservative policies, but Romney has not. This hardly proves that there's no room in the GOP for moderates.

Let's make this unambiguously clear as possible.

"The left has moved drastically to the left the past several years."

Henny Penny
Quote:
Henny Penny, more commonly known in the United States as Chicken Little and sometimes as Chicken Licken, is a European folk tale with a moral in the form of a cumulative tale about a chicken who believes the world is coming to an end. The phrase "The sky is falling!" features prominently in the story, and has passed into the English language as a common idiom indicating a hysterical or mistaken belief that disaster is imminent. Versions of the story go back more than 25 centuries;[1] it continues to be referred to in a variety of media.
The claim, "The left has moved drastically to the left the past several years" = "The sky is falling!"

It is not a fact that "the sky is falling." It was wrong when Henny Penny said it 40, 50, 70 and 90 years ago, and it is wrong now.

It is not a fact that "the left has moved drastically to the left the past several years." It was wrong when people said it 40, 50, 70 and 90 years ago, and it is wrong now.

Just like "the sky is falling," the claim "the left has moved drastically to the left the past several years" is nothing more than a scare tactic. It's sad some people actually believe it.

The problem here apparently is that you simply don't know what you are talking about. It's an objective fact that the left have moved drastically to the left since 2008. If the sky actually WAS falling every time in the Chicken Little story, then it would be applicable.

Just because the Democrats have many times before made the mistake of moving too far to the left and have been called on it does not mean it isn't the case right now. You may not believe the objective truth, but your ignorance, hilarious as it may be, isn't an argument against verifiably true statements.

The problem here, is that you actually believe that.

He speaks the truth that Democrats don't want to hear.

He's absolutely right--the party has moved too far left and will prevent them from taking the White House in 2020.
