Cannot even believe that some Alt-right types actually believed this nonsense "PIZZAGATE" conspiracy theory! Does anybody here still believe it?

He does it on purpose to sow dissention amont the public. Too many people are too guillible - they read a few Tweets and feel they are experts. And since said Tweets are designed to appeal to their emotions and not their intellect - it works like a charm. A common tactic by demagogues.

It doesn't matter what I say you won't believe me anyway but I will point out the obvious. When there is not enough evidence to convict someone of a crime, they aren't charged with it. Since the Republicans constantly repeat "No quid pro quo happened! It was all hearsay!" Nancy Pelosi was smart. She left out the bribery charge. But Republicans cannot deny obstruction of Congress in a president who refuses to produce documents and evidence by ignoring subpoenas. It's obstruction pure and simple. No hearsay there.

There is much evidence of a crime and it is disturbing that any American continues to defend the indefensible: we have the transcript of the July 25 call; Trump's confession to the extortion on the White House lawn; 17 testimonies from witnesses who confirmed Trump did ask/beg and extort Ukrainian officials for the President's campaign and personal political benefits; dozens of emails and other communications confirming Donald J Trump did not have any interest in correcting corrupt practices, he just wanted investigations that helped him or Russia.

Oh, right, it is so hard to make a case with so little?

You and others can defend him till the ducks all fall over the dam, but please understand that the Republican blend of falsehoods, disruptions and conspiracy theories that you and those of your ilk either believe or are disingenuously using to cause confusion, do not conceal the fact that if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, as one of the House Reps mentioned yesterday, it is a duck.

Make no mistake, the current president of these United States of America has decided that our national sovereignty is less significant than his own political performance. In doing so he has revealed to us all that he is unable to place the needs of American citizens above his personal desires. This kind of corruption is exactly the kind of abuse of office that the framers had in mind when they gave the House the power to impeach and the Senate the power to remove.

The solicitation of a foreign national or government to help a campaign IS a crime. All you have to do is ASK and it is a crime.

We have an unethical guy in the Oval Office and he is abusing his power as demonstrated by a mountain of evidence. This unethical guy asked and pressured a foreign government to interfere in our affairs and also did so in the context of an election. Then when a co-equal branch of our government stood up and attempted to do its duty, this unethical president obstructed that work at every turn. These are impeachable offenses.

Shamefully and mournfully there will probably not be 20 Republican Senators who are concerned enough about national security and the integrity of our Constitution to do the right thing for this country.

If you think the past half dozen Presidents weren't guilty of playing hardball with foreign countries like this you are sadly mistaken. Now because the opposition hates the guy in office worse than any opposition has ever hated one, they conveniently decide what Presidents do is against the law. Height of hypocrisy.

Now the Republicans will inevitably do the same thing when a Democrat gets voted in and the whole country swirls the drain even faster.

Even worse, the thing that is sending Dems over the edge with this impeachment push is the president daring to think an actual quid pro quo CAUGHT ON TAPE should be looked in to. Think about that for a second..Democrats are actually moving forward on impeachment on abuse of power charges on a phone call in which there was nothing nefarious while everyone pretends that the former vice president isn't ON TAPE actually extorting Ukraine via a quid quo pro.

The Democrats charge of abuse of power is incredibly ironic too given the IG report that dropped yesterday. Despite the statement from the IG saying he didn't find documentary evidence of bias, the IG report was an extremely damning indictment of how the FBI handled the entire Russia investigation and the FISA warrant in particular. The FBI abused the absolute s### out of its power and literally spied on an opposition party's campaign and presidency based on DNC financed fake dossier yet Dems have the gall to feign outrage over a tame phone call which we have the transcript of.

There's no way Pelosi and most of the Democratic party actually believes the impeachment farce they are trying to sell. They aren't dumb. Only explanation is that they along with a lot of Deep State Never Trumpers (both Democrats and Republicans) are terrified of what and who will be exposed if the administration digs too deep into Ukraine. No other reason for this desperate hurried attempt to get rid of the president makes sense based on how big of a political loser this impeachment is for the Democrats. They're either incredibly naive and think their little East Coast and West Coast bubble of elitist friends represent the attitudes of the country at large or they think the country at large is too stupid to see this for the idiotic farce it is or they're scared s###less of this administration exposing serious crimes committed by "the Swamp". Nothing else makes any sense.
This is just a show. As much as I disrespect the Democrats now, I know the impeachment is not going to happen.

We are stuck with Trump until 2020.

The reason for that is that it is not sufficient to ‘impeach’ him. To remove Trump from office it is also necessary that a ‘conviction’ takes place in the Senate. For that, there must be a two-thirds Democratic majority in the Senate. The 2018 congressional elections did not result in any such majority.
