The Convention covers five main areas: preventive measures, criminalization and law enforcement, international cooperation, asset recovery, and technical assistance and information exchange. The Convention covers many different forms of corruption, such as bribery, trading in influence, abuse of functions, and various acts of corruption in the private sector.
International cooperation
Countries are bound by the Convention to render specific forms of mutual legal assistance in gathering and transferring evidence for use in court, to extradite offenders.

President Trump and the leader of Ukraine were REQUIRED by U.N. convention to find out what was going on in a possible crime between the two countries, and send the information to the other.
President Trump's call to Ukraine, did exactly that.
The ironic part is that, if Pres. Trump had NOT asked Zelinsky to find out what's going on with the investigation, the Democrat would have more reason to impeach him (though not much more) that they do now, this time for failing to uphold a treaty.
Poor Democrat fanatics. They just can't get it right. And the more they try to pretend they have a point, the sillier they look.
The treaty REQUIRES that the two countries cooperate. Obviously this includes Country A asking Country B to investigate a matter going on in Country B that involves clear corruption and quid-pro-quo by a citizen of Country A (Joe Biden bragging about withholding $billions if they don't fire a prosecutor investigating his son's company).
The idea that Joe Biden's party can impeach a President because he asked Ukraine to investigate corruption that the Treaty was clearly written to prevent, and mandates that the two countries cooperate on, is ludicrous.
You people are really bending over backward to pretend Trump did something wrong when he clearly didn't, aren't you?
A video appeared with Joe Biden admitting to the quid, the pro, and the quo happened, and he was bragging about it. Journalist snooped. What had been hidden was exposed.

Why?
What is the point?
You know this is ridiculous. Why do the right-wing have this constant need to lie to themselves?
What makes you think, that has not happened?
Slammer!
