Well, one was willing to contribute, so good on her. The rest should be rethinking their stance. They aren’t paying today, but they will one day because the definition of “rich” can be amazingly low.

The problem with “rethinking” is that they don’t know how to think. They are well trained little Parrots.
They just repeat their training.

The response from the last guy: "That shouldn't be my duty to raise the money. This country has more than enough money distributed in the hands of the wrong individuals."

What a typical leftist position of rules for thee, but not for me.

I've heard a number of young people state that until they graduated and started working, their student loan debt was this number on a piece of paper they were aware of but until they started having to make that payment and balance their budget it hadn't hit home yet.

Imagine new grads paying their student loans, working hard, still living on the cheap like in college with perhaps a side-gig on the weekends like working weddings, events etc. (plus they get to take home leftovers.) Now tell them you want to give free healthcare, free tuition etc. etc. etc. to non-citizens.

theory meets reality, looks something like this...forward to about 35 seconds.

Using the term 'rethinking' suggests they thought in the first place. We all know these people don't have an original though in their heads - they simply parrot memorized bits they've heard.
