So that's why you think Upchuck Schumer is a hypocrite demanding witnesses in the Senate trial when he said just the opposite during Clinton's impeachment trial, right?

These old career politician seem to forget we have the internet.

Default Any chance that Pelosi...

... holds the impeachment and does not give it to the Senate to process right away?

I think it would make things worse from them because it would clearly show they are merely playing politics.

But on the other hand, they are trying their best to play their hand at the right time to try and remove Trump ASAP.

They've always known removing Trump was a long shot unless they had him dead to rights on an actual crime and a serious one at that. Not to mention they wouldn't gain much to see him replaced by Pence, so I don't think it was ever their end goal to remove him.

I think they thought they would tarnish him with a Scarlet "I" and damage his re-election chances, only to find themselves out way over their skis with no turning back before they realized their strategy was backfiring.

Whether they actually send the articles over to the Senate is almost immaterial at this point. The damage to their party is already done and it will take a while to un-do it.

It will be interesting to see what McConnell does, he is set to respond tomorrow at 9:30 am.

There is no requirement for the senate to wait for the House to send over articles of impeachment. The senate can proceed to trial anytime now that the House has voted on impeachment.

What would happen if the Democrat Senators boycotted the trial in protest to several Repub senators saying they've already reached their decision to not convict?

Nothing would happen, the trial will continue without them.
