tempting but he won't do it unless Pelosi never crawls out from under the bed and sends it. Impeachment is pretty formal stuff in the Senate because that's where it ends. I bet the Democrats delay will effect all the Senate Democrats running for President and the time they have to campaign right before the primaries. Wonder if Pelosi gave that any thought? Can't imagine Sanders or Warren like this plan by Pelosi.

Maybe they'll spare us a few weeks of nonsense over the Christmas holidays.

President Trump will continue to do the work of the American people.
Weren't you paying attention when McConnell said he wasn't going to have it until after the holidays?

The House debates the resolution and may at the conclusion consider the resolution as a whole or vote on each article of impeachment individually. A simple majority of those present and voting is required for each article for the resolution as a whole to pass. If the House votes to impeach, managers (typically referred to as "House managers", with a "lead House manager") are selected to present the case to the Senate. Recently, managers have been selected by resolution, while historically the House would occasionally elect the managers or pass a resolution allowing the appointment of managers at the discretion of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. These managers are roughly the equivalent of the prosecution or district attorney in a standard criminal trial. Also, the House will adopt a resolution in order to notify the Senate of its action. After receiving the notice, the Senate will adopt an order notifying the House that it is ready to receive the managers. The House managers then appear before the bar of the Senate and exhibit the articles of impeachment. After the reading of the charges, the managers return and make a verbal report to the House.

THE IMPEACHMENT IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE HOUSE COMPLETES THE RESOLUTION AND SENDS IT TO THE US SENATE.

Trump has not been impeached if the US Senate never sees it.
As I thought. There is no law saying that if the House does not deliver the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate the President is not impeached.

Trump has fallen into that trap many times. Running his mouth, finding later, it works against you. Democrats are no different. Actually the first talk of impeaching Trump was in April 2016, when he was one of more than a dozen candidates.

BTW, how many impeachments have there been in the United States (Judges, Presidents, Vice Presidents, all other officers of the U.S.)?

Of all the times where Article(s) of Impeachment were passed by the House, in how many of those has the House not sent the Article(s) of Impeachment to the Senate?

The truth of the matter.... It’s Thursday December 19th, 2019, and Donald J. Trump is STILL YOUR PRESIDENT.

Thank you, and have a great day!

Yup

And that's why, not one single hypocritical Democrat on this forum, will not answer that question. It's a sad day for them, when they can't even say which Democrat they support because they are all so bad.

here's an April 2016 story in Politico about impeaching Trump 6 months before the election. He wasn't even the nominee.

If Pelosi went along with that nonsense, she’d be complicit in what I see as anti-Trump subterfuge, and she should be above such nonsense as the Speaker. We don’t have the presidency or the Senate, and we should keep in mind as liberals that elections have consequences and live with the Senate’s outcome even if we don’t like it. Trump should have his opportunity in a trial. It’s only right.

I don’t want anything to do with any stupidity that doesn’t see Pelosi sending the Articles over to the Senate. It’s UnAmerican. Do the right thing.
McConnell has already said he will not be an impartial juror. Wonder how that will hold up when he takes the oath that he WILL be an impartial juror? My guess is he'll lie under oath, and it won't matter.
