Why does the U.S. support Israel again?
This doesn't happen all the time, but yes, sometimes Israel does things that aren't in the US interests.

I don't assume we should stop dealing with Russia just because a Russian spy is caught in the US.

I'm all for the US changing it's foreign policy with Israel, but judging the entire country based off that incident doesn't make sense to me.

What I find most puzzling is that there is a more open and diverse dialog in Israel concerning this issue. While you may still be a minority in opinion, you are far more in the minority in the United States than you would likely be in Israel it self. However this may just be due in part to a lack of understanding of the multitude of issues and history.

This is one of the things I find most difficult in discussing any issue relating to Israel is that many in America seem to think that to be "Jewish" is to homogeneous and nothing could be further from the truth.

As I am sure takes place in other nations when they refer to the people of America as "Americans" as though we all think and act alike and share the same opinions and beliefs, we seem to behave in basically the same fashion.

.

You are right about that. I went to Israel on Birthright recently and found more openness about Palestinian issues and free discussion about Hamas than I did in the states. Jews don't seem to be as paranoid there, and therefore don't get so defensive when criticizing their state. It's really interesting.

I want Israel to go back to it's 1967 borders and end the occupation, but I also agree that Hamas should accept Israel's existance, because many Jews on the opposing side are more than willing to give Palestinian's a state as long as Hamas accepts it (like many OTHER Arab countries have already said they're willing to do-including Saudi Arabia!)
i dont know, palestine was there before all the jews migrated there from europe!

since your jewish, why are jews only labled semetic in the west, and accuse those of true semetic origin to be anti semetic does that makes sense?

when someone speaks against isreal they're labeled anti-semetites!

The real story:

FOXNews.com - Hamas Leader Vows Not to Recognize Israel After Carter Trumpets Terror Group's Willingness to Be Good 'Neighbor' - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

JERUSALEM — Just hours after former President Jimmy Carter trumpeted Hamas' agreement to let Israel "live as a neighbor," the same terrorist leader he met with face-to-face vowed not to recognize the Jewish state.

But Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal did offer Israel a 10-year truce if it withdraws from all lands it seized in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

Here is a picture of America's greatest idiot with the terrorist leader:

The Carter visit was a complete failure and a fraud. Carter continues to damage US foreign policy, even though this idiot has been out of the White House for over 20 year.

One can only hope Carter will R.I.P. in hell soon.
I don"t have to understand your reasons for disagreeing with Carter or his tactics. However to wish a man dead and call him a Fraud is something you can't back up.You say he has continued to damage U.S. foreign policy? This area of the world is not something created by the U.S or even something we have ever had control over.Carter has always been one of the few politicians that has acted with his heart and his perception of right and wrong even when it has cost him friends ,money, reputation. In large part in his state of Georgia he is a good reason that Georgia is not Lousianna or Mississippi because of his courage in the 50's-60's to challenge the corrupt powerful "dixiecrats". He has helped more people than any former or current leader in the world in this day and age.Disagree all you want but the man is a GOOD Caring human being.

You quote Rupert Murdox's political juke box(fox media)as a source as credible?!!Innocent people are dying on every side in the middle east.Jiimmy Carter is doing what he feels God is calling him to do.All I know is whats has been going on in the last eight years or more is more or less the same over there.2 steps forward,3steps back.Tell me Who's right if he's wrong?Maybe it people like you driving the violence and the hate mongoring.

Really, what are you talking about? Nobody, except one group that is not even involved in the process, invited him or authorized him to be there or to interject himself.
