For those who agree with OP, the correct approach would be to seek a Constitutional Amendment. The Constitution clearly intended impeachment as something to be used in only the gravest of circumstances. That's why all three federal entities (House, Senate, & SCOTUS) were given a role, and the 2/3rds supermajority required in the Senate.
All presidents engage in petty corruption, and often in major corruption. Obama had 'Fast and Furious,' Benghazi, etc. W. Bush had his share too. Neither were impeached, nor should they have been. With Trump there is not even solid evidence of corrupt intent. The main 'evidence' is the so-called transcript, which can be interpreted any number of ways.
Trump was impeached per the constitution. If it sets a precedent, good. A corrupt president who puts self interest over the country’s security should be impeached, every time.
Not an impeachment unless it goes to the Senate.
(Looks like this needs to be repeated in all these threads.)
Impeaching a president who is corrupt and compromises national security should be impeached and removed from office. In most parliamentary govt. if people lose confidence in the prime minister she is thrown out and a new election is called. Why should it be such a rare thing in the US? Impeachment is the only tool people have to stop president gone amuck and it should be used when necessary.
So Obama should be impeached now. You don't have to be in office to be impeached.
"@NoahRFeldman is making a clever but wholly mistaken point when he says Trump hasn’t “really” been impeached until the Articles reach the Senate. Under Art. I, Sec. 2, Clause 5, he was impeached on Dec 18, 2019. He will forever remain impeached. Period."

Well, assuming Pelosi ever decides to do her job and pass on the disgraceful articles of impeachment to the Senate, it'll be a moot point. If she instead refuses to do her job....well, then there will be quite a conversation to be had about it.

Impeachment is just a word. And it just means more than half the house voted to impeach him. No one cares except you.

Sounds good but proving it is another thing. Dont forget the one thing President Trump is good at and that is Litigation....and paybacks through litigation.....
