Wow, this is yuge. Trump's bred and butter within his base, his most hardcore and ardent supporters, are small town evangelicals.

Christian Today, currently the largest evangelical publication in circulation in America, calls for his impeachment.

I wonder if we are starting to see small cracks among Trump's base, and if even the most religious people in this country are starting to break from Donny, as he continues to act like a non-Christian and exude nasty, disgusting behavior.

Default Christianity Today: Trump Should Be Removed From Office

Finally there is some sanity coming from some Christians

Quote:
To the many evangelicals who continue to support Mr. Trump in spite of his blackened moral record, we might say this: Remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior. Consider what an unbelieving world will say if you continue to brush off Mr. Trump’s immoral words and behavior in the cause of political expediency. If we don’t reverse course now, will anyone take anything we say about justice and righteousness with any seriousness for decades to come? Can we say with a straight face that abortion is a great evil that cannot be tolerated and, with the same straight face, say that the bent and broken character of our nation’s leader doesn’t really matter in the end?
And

Quote:
But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.

The reason many are not shocked about this is that this president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He has hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral actions in business and his relationship with women, about which he remains proud. His Twitter feed alone—with its habitual string of mischaracterizations, lies, and slanders—is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.

A lot of Christians think Christianity Today is a liberal publication.

I still have a lot of Christian friends who still still maintain their support for Trump no matter what he says and does. At some point Trump will start to lose his Christian supporters but he’ll have to do something that they cannot overlook.

It was founded by Billy Graham. Hardly a liberal.

I'm not surprised. There are many Christians who see that Trump is rotten to the core.

So a Christian organization is asking someone who has cheated on all of his wives, paid a stripper for sex, told Howard Stern that he would screw his daughter if she weren't his daughter, likes grabbing women by their private parts, defrauded charity organizations that help kids with cancer, defrauded poor students with his fake university, managed (unsuccessfully) a casino that promoted gambling, made fun of people with disabilities, told thousands of lies, separated little kids with their parents, probably broke every single commandment in the Bible, etc. to leave the office of the Presidency of the United States????

WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO ??????????

Good. I do take issue with groups like this being called "religious" because they are usually known for fanaticism and near craziness, not regular religion. But I do think any individual or group who has a sense of morality and honesty and decency would call for impeachment.
