Pelosi said she would not support impeachment unless there was universal overwhelming bipartisan support for it. This never happened and yet she decided to impeach Trump along with Democrats. Why?
They know Trump is likely to win because of the economy. They thought by impeaching Trump it would create disability in the economy and hopefully put an end to the great Trump economy.

I think Pelosi was hoping that the GOP would put country over party and Trump, but that didn't happen. So they had to do what needed to be done anyway.

Nancy was also trying to hold on to the Speakership from the AOC Crew of leftists. Nancy was also trying to keep the Dem party together, and avoid it being splintered off.

They have no case against Trump, which is why they were unable to get Americans behind their impeachment call. It is also why their articles of impeachment are so vague. It is also why they are scared to send it to the Senate. They are still trying to build their case AFTER voting for it. They know it's a nothing burger, which is why they are demanding more witnesses when they already voted on impeachment! They didn't let Republicans decide anything in the House and now they are trying to extort the Senate lol, thank god we have a president with a back bone.

Do you have a link to your assertion about Americans not being behind impeachment? Nothing I've read indicates that.

Every poll, there are a lot online... this is the most partisan impeachment attempt ever. In fact, there were 0 Republicans who voted for it and 3 Democrats who voted against it. Trump has gone up in the match up polls against Democrats since the impeachment vote. Only half the country supports impeachment, which is pretty much party line voting. Not the overwhelming bipartisan support Pelosi initially said she requires for impeachment.

The only House Democrats who put country over party were the two who voted against impeachment.
If anybody else did what Trump did... in ANY other Democratic 1st world country, he would be removed from office at ONCE!!

The “evidence” was double and triple hearsay. Would you be ok if someone told someone who told someone else who told the police that you committed a crime and they arrested you on that basis???
