Do you guys want to keep on manufacturing typewriters because you don't realize computers have arrived?
Time for the old white Republicans to embrace progress and the future. That is where the jobs will be.

Who knew that computer science and associated technology jobs would be a career back in the day before computers? Quit latching on to the past, that is for museums.
Jobs? Lets see about that...solar panels are mostly made in China...no jobs there. Wind turbines parts come from a lot of foreign companies some in China. Not many American jobs there.
Fact: 67% of power in the US comes from fossil fuels, 20% from nuclear, 6.5% from wind and 1.5% from solar.
There no way that wind and solar can replace at those rates of power output.
Eliminating millions of American jobs is not in the best interest of the American people.
I’m not against green energy, I support it, but we shouldn’t stop our energy independence boom. You can create tax incentives for people and businesses to choose green energy. That’s how it should be... not big government saying sorry guys, the AOC gang want you out of business NOW! The realility is the same people working in the slopes, on oil rigs, etc are not going to be the ones working in solar etc.
One way to do it is to levy a carbon tax that collects enough money to pay for all the damage that climate change is doing to the country now. These massive weather disasters, made worse by climate change, through violent hurricanes, midwest flooding, exploding wildfires, etc. have cost us billions. Fossil fuels should help pay for the mess they are making.
Once the cost of climate change is added to the base price of fossil fuel, then the market can choose to go green at its own pace. Let's say a fair carbon tax puts gasoline at $5 or $6 per gallon. For many commuters, at that point an electric vehicle starts to be irresistible.
Biden ain't too quick on his feet. When he was asked that question, he should have talked about his early life experiences in Scranton.
After WW2, the anthracite coal industry experienced a huge decline as fuel oil and later natural gas displaced people's, businesses', schools' and industries' coal furnaces. There was a giant exodus out of the area and among those forced to move was Joe Biden's family.
It took decades to recover from that debacle. What emerged was the "Scranton Plan," which succeeded in attracting new businesses and industries to the area. The Scranton Plan has been used as a model of what to do when your area is hit by economic hardship.

I don't agree. The reality is most people cannot afford an electric car. Intentionally making gas $5-6 is a massive tax on the low and middle class American. Democrats need to be completely honest about this if they support it.
I'd rather see tax incentives for people to go green, not to make the average poor and middle class have tougher lives. This is where elitism comes into play. There is a huge chunk of the country that wouldn't be able to use an electric car as their primary because of a lack of charging infrastructure.
We are already getting there now without gouging low income and middle income Americans. Tesla is making all other automakers step up their game when it comes to electric cars... let the free market continue this evolution without destroying the economy or making lives of millions harder.
I still remember going through back to back to back to back hurricanes in 2004. We have had much worse natural disasters in the past. It's sort of like murders or tragedies of war. War was much brutal before without a lot more lives lost. The difference now is everything is televised and on the internet. So it seems like it happens a lot more now than ever before.
When California went all in on green energy, there were more solar and wind jobs created than oil jobs lost.
Switching to green energy stimulates the economy. That's been proven.
There were more jobs created than lost, means green energy production is less efficient.
Less efficient energy production means the same energy (KWH, BTU) will be made more expensive.
More expensive energy means households will on the net be poorer and thus have less dollars to spend on food, clothing, health (i.e. lower standard of living)
However crony energy providers will be richer as a result of the stimuli
