To a fascist, almost everything is left wing (and don't start with the fascism is left wing BS)
The difference between fascism and communism is merely the flavor of the authoritarianism. They have far more in common with one another than with anything that should be considered an acceptable political ideology and yet while there effectively are no fascists, communism and the diet caffeine free communism called socialism seems to be on the rise yet again.

Nope, this is revisionist history. Conservatives like yourself gaslight like this to pretend that conservatives are actually libertarians. We're not buying it

I'm not sure how you got that from what I said... but it's not what I actually said.
Fascists and communists are extreme authoritarians that share more in commun with one another than with any centrist or libertarian ideology no matter where they are on the left-right spectrum.
Obviously not all on the right are libertarian just like not all on the left are authoritarian.... but it is true that ultra authoritarian ideologies like communism and socialism are increasingly popular among those on the left.

Nobody wants state run socialism, we just want safety net capitalism like Scandinavian countries have
Nyc voters elected republican mayors 5 terms in a row, 1994-2013. during republican Giuliani's two terms and republican Bloomberg's three terms, the city cleaned up. the subway became safe. crime dropped. business boomed. people moved back to the city after fleeing to the burbs in decades past.
low voter turnout, 8.5% of the citizens and mainly wealthy progressives, resulted in a change in political direction... the election of progressive mayor de Blasio in 2014.
the voters wanted change to 'left wing' only 6 years ago. new yorkers got what they wanted and they deserve what they voted for!

That's factually inaccurate, perhaps you only want a capitalist welfare state following the nordic model (which wouldn't work in the US for a host of reasons) but no one that is an actual socialist wants that because it's not socialism, it's capitalism.
In reality, there's no such thing as a socialism that isn't state run.... that's just the propaganda they sell ignorant people. They hook you by selling socialism as capitalism, then they give you socialism.

Again, nobody wants actual socialism. That is right wing hyperbole

Socialists want socialism, pretending otherwise simply because you swallowed a bunch of propaganda or because it's not what you personally want is foolish.
People in cities have to accept they have to work together with people that are very different from themselves and that is what the democrats represent. Tolerance and working together.
Rural and semi-rural people have little enough, directly, to do with other people for their everyday survival so feel like they're going it alone and so should others.
