When you have people building homes and living in arid places, places that have always been arid, this is the result.

It is not the arid regions that are burning.

Given that there have been arsonists every year, why is this year so different?

More arsonists. Do they have the exact same amount every year? Maybe the WEATHER is also different?

Uh huh. That guy’s a complete horse’s arse. There’s no Green policy preventing hazard reduction burns so they can blame it on Climate Change. If there is, no one can actually find them. It’s not like the Greens are in power ever so how that works is beyond me.

Secondly, he’s saying the RFS, and other VOLUNTEER firefighting agencies, are manipulating policy to retain a high fuel load so they can get more funding as a result of the increase in fire activity? Are you friggin joking mate? They’ve been warning for months this was going to happen. VOLUNTEER firefighters are dying fighting these fires. I’d welcome anyone to walk into a brigade and say that out loud to their face.

From your link:

First, the Greens, who are using it to further their Global Warming narrative; second, the fire agencies, who can ask for increased funding; third, the politicians who can exploit the victims for a photo-op; and fourth, the media who report on the tragedy.

Forgot about this thread, and many links have been supplied that state these fires were set by multiple arsonists. Nonethless, here's one more:

...This fire season, police have taken legal action – ranging from cautions to charges –against almost 200 people in New South Wales alone. That includes 24 people charged with deliberately lighting bushfires, 53 accused of failing to comply with the fire ban and 47 accused of discarding a lit cigarette or match...
I saw a pic today of a kangaroo that was stuck at a fence when the fire overtook him/her. Very disturbing image. The loss of animal life "500 million animals" according to the article above, the injuries that so many of them have gone through - I hope they bury those arsonists underneath the prison...alive.
