The president is a man like us, with all the same faults and limitations as any other man. Only to those who treat our leaders like Gods or otherwise put them on a pedestal is this difficult to grasp. I don't or won't try to hold the president to a different standard than anyone else.
Just because a President is human like the rest of us doesn't mean that we shouldn't attempt to elect the best among us.
Attempting to elect the best, and then holding him or her closely accountable, isn't 'treating our leaders like gods', it is hopefully helpful re extracting better job performance from an employee. And make no mistake, the President is our employee.
I think you're wrong re not holding the President to a different standard than anyone else.
The President should be held to a higher standard than a parking lot attendant.
I also believe that if the current President was someone you disagreed with politically, you wouldn't have such a magnanimous attitude towards him or her.
Oh, President Trump did grow up on the streets of Queens (and in a much rougher period than Queens is known for today) and he knows how to interact with people who great up on the streets as he didn't stay in an ivory tower and not interact with people from the streets (largely thanks to oft-hands on approach to conducting business). That he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth so to speak doesn't change this point.
I'm a Trump supporter (proud and loud), but I'll be the first to criticize President Trump when he does something I don't like, to include calling names, etc. But, unlike others, I'll also call out leftist hypocrisy in going after President Trump for the same things that they do have or celebrated in the past. In short, I don't hold President Trump to a different standard than I hold others to.

Here is the house he grew up in on those "streets of Queens"...........
Yea, didn't Daddy give him the equivalent of 400 million dollars (in today's money) to get his headstart in life?
Trump is a crook, period. He's just playing to his support base.
How original ... guido.
