They had the big majority of the Cuban American vote for decades (up to 70-80%).

George W. Bush had 44% of the Latino vote nationwide in 2004.

Pete Wilson has 47% of the Latino vote in 1990 in his race for governor in California. Threw it all away in 1994 when he went all in on Prop 187.

The question should be: What is the GOP going to do to increase their share of the Hispanic/Latino vote? Demographics are a hard, stubborn fact. You're better off trying to change your marketing and your product.
That 44% for Bush was just 40% for Bush in 2004, Kerry still won 58% and Gore 62% in 2000.The Republicans never win the Latino vote. Cubans are more conservative but it's a small percentage of latinos. South Florida is pretty blue.

The browning of America = a one party state like California

Well, Texas has a much more established cultural heritage with the Tejanos going back over a hundred years. And there has been a pretty well established cadre of Hispanic GOP politicians in Texas, to a greater extent than in California. Remember, more Hispanics are citizens than are non-citizens. Plus Dubya has stronger political instincts than people credit him for.

No they don't. They may have families, but most do not have careers or businesses.

Well, again - what are you gonna do about it? Just throw up your hands and give up? Kind of sounds like electoral suicide. But that's not my problem. Heck, I live in California, I don't mind that.

Which is kind of my point, but a bit of a twist.

When you mean "legal immigrants", they can't vote until they're naturalized, correct?

Well, those of Eastern European origin, IIRC, probably go for the GOP by a majority.

Reduce immigration, legal and illegal, eliminate chain migration, deport the 17-20 million illegals, end welfare benefits that encourage illegal immigration.

My state will never be minority / majority thank god, but California and Texas will determine elections. We are headed in right direction finally but the populist, nationalist movement has alot of work to do.
