I am Asian.... As you recall, I speak a little Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Korean. 1st Generation American Born. I have little connection with my native country and consider myself 100% American. I have concerns for other groups of people.... heck I don't consider "them" vs "us".... I see legal immigrants as Americans in the making...
You seem to conflate Latinos legal and illegal because they all speak the same language that annoy you.
No one cares what language people speak as long as they can be productive in this country. Language and skin color don't mean anything.
Actually, they don't vote heavily for democrat. Just recently some have been brainwashed, but in the past most have voted for the Republicans. And seriously, why would any sane Asian vote for democrats when they are the ones who put the Japanese into concentration camps, were the ones that waged war on Asian countries like Japan, Korea and Vietnam and even oppress their chances of getting into universities by demanding higher test scores than any other demographic?
That was a ridiculous response. If a republican had been president during WW2, they too would have put Japanese in internment camps. Not to mention that Japanese are only a minor part of Asian-Americans these days.
In the 2014 midterm elections, 49 percent of Asian American voters backed a Democratic House candidate, according to exit polls. But in 2018, that number shot up to 77 percent.
It was a massive surge — and it’s a trend that’s been building for some time: As the Republican Party has moved to the right, especially on issues like immigration, Asian American voters are increasingly aligning themselves with Democrats. Since 2016, Trump’s presidency has only amplified this shift, with the White House’s focus on anti-immigrant policy putting voters off even more.
Asian American registered voters hold a net unfavorable view of the Republican Party, with 52% viewing the party unfavorably and 34% viewing it favorably. At the same time, Asian American registered voters give the Democratic Party a large net favorable rating (58%-28%).
The Democrats already own a good share of the white vote now. The only white demographic that doesn't vote Democratic are old white men.
Old white women vote Democratic, as do young white women and young white men. As do people of color and religious and other minorities.
The browning of America has already happened. Almost 25% of us now have Latino heritage, and as a demographic group, they are younger than the whites. That means there will more to come with every generation.
And since the young are much more racially tolerant than the old white men, that also means America will continue to become browner with each new generation that's born. Race won't be the issue it was in the 20th century as this century progresses.
This post is incorrect. Trump won white voters among all age groups.
There would have to be a huge surge in the white birth rate really soon in order for whites to remain the majority while minority birth rates continued to fall. Short of that, even with falling immigration rates, the browning of America is set in stone. Demographics is a big ship that cannot be turned around on a dime and which takes decades to play out trends.
The most important thing is for Republicans to challenge the Democrats' use of identity politics. They are racist and segregationist to the core. The liberal message is that blacks and Hispanics should identify first and foremost with their race, that they are and should be separate from mainstream America, with separate racial interests, adn that only the Democrats can address these racial interests. They don't want the mentality where we are all one American people, they want to push the idea that we are different competing peoples sharing one land, like Bosnia, Lebanon, Northern Ireland, or South Africa. The Democrats for example believe a certain proportion of people in Congress MUST be black or Hispanic, etc, that only a black Democrat can appropriately represent a black constituent, that blacks must always vote for blacks based on race, even though this certainly isn't true and a black official can represent a majority non black district very well and many white conservative voters have voted for non-white candidates like Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley and Ted Cruz and Tim Scott.
Democrats and the left seem to love the idea of different immigrant groups maintaning separate cultures and ethnic identities rather than assimilate into American culture and identify simply as American. I'm a minority who is a conservative Republican and its always only been minority Democrats and white liberals who have questioned why I have the beliefs I do. In my mostly white, conservative Southern community, anyone with common sense regardless of color would be a Trump supporter.
What happens to the Democratic party if the browning of America doesn't happen
Nothing.
But you know what, the whole basis of this thread is sick and racist.
It's like a bunch of Archie Bunkers have multiplied and taken over our country!
