I am so sick and tired of hearing about the evils of socialism from Trump supporters.

$50 BILLION dollars in taxpayer money is going to Trump supporting farmers.
$10 BILLION dollars in taxpayer money is going to Trump supporters coal miners.

Congress Saves Coal Miner Pensions, but What About Others?
Lawmakers will use taxpayer money to fill a roughly $10 billion hole in the miners’ doomed fund. But more plans face the same problems.

Starting next year, the Treasury’s transfers to the Abandoned Mine Lands fund will rise to a maximum $750 million a year, and will help pay for pensions as well as retiree health care. This may prompt other unions to seek federal assistance for their plans, too.

And it doesn't end there. The top five states on Disability are in the South including West Virginia (15%!) Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas.

When do Trump supporters apply their opposition to socialism to themselves?

Limit the federal government to it's enumerated powers and you'll get your wish.

You seem to cheer for a huge federal government taking care of everyone and then moan when you don't like the results.

We already pay for Medicare recipients. They barely pay a third of the medical benefits they receive. Want to end it all? Sounds fine by me. I would just as soon see Western Washington join Canada and stop participating in this madness. Just redraw the border and build the biggest wall there ever was. It's the same stupidity that Republicans have shown for opposing health care due to costs but cheering the creation of a Space Force. This time it's farmers and coal miners. Where's their opposition to socialism now???

Coal miners that take this taxpayer funded pension bailout should lose their Social Security at minimum. They get the pension, they lose the other.

That's not socialism. Those are govt. subsidies - big difference. How many Dems voted for these subsidies ?

I don't like it either but both of these impact our national security... especially farmers. If you want to be mad at anyone - be mad at the Federal Reserve for not allowing the normal business cycle to unfold and stealing your money through stealth inflation.

I'm opposed to it.

But that doesn't mean I'm going to vote for the DNC as they strive to increase "socialism".

Subsidies, Bailouts etc.. they are all due to the Feds manipulating commerce and the natural process of things because they the Feds themselves messed it up in the first place with regulations and red tape etc..

I wouldn't call subsidies socialism. I would call it more a failure of a system that was setup to fail just to be bailed out. You know, typical politics. It doesn't matter if it is the Republicans or the Democrats.

No. Just no. Farmers should operate under the same principles as any other business. If they can't support themselves, they need to sell and get another job. We don't need to support farmers to the tune of $50 BILLION dollars. And coal miners? Give me a break. Why do we the taxpayer need to pay for coal miner pensions of $70K a year and free health care? Why isn't the GOP vocally opposing that? I'll tell you why. Because they vote GOP which exposes the lie of Trump supporters. They LOVE socialism as long is they are the ones getting the money.

Funny how Democrats love to get picayune about the dictionary definition of Socialism until using it in an incredibly loose way benefits their narrative.

If they are taking my tax dollars to give to a coal miner or a farmer, that is outright socialism. If they are taking my tax dollars and giving to Appalachia because they refuse to leave Appalachia and get a real job, that is outright socialism. It's the same ridiculousness that we see with red states sucking up blue state money.

At least Trump supporters should be HONEST (they lie as much as Trump does) and admit they love socialism when the money is going to them.

I need to go to work now. So I can give money to coal miners. Because the 15% of WV on Disability and $50 BILLION to farmers just wasn't enough.
