Seems like Democrats have wasted and awful lot of energy on "resisting" and trying to get Trump on SOMETHING.....

I think they'd have been better off using their time more productively and using Trump's ego to get him to work with them on healthcare reform for the good of the country.

Maybe trade some type of single player plan for funding the wall?

But they're so bent on not letting Trump have anything that he could portray as a win, that they are literally willing to cut of their nose to spite their face.

Oh, Fat Bob. Always good to see your posts.

What, pray tell, was Trump's "healthcare reform plan for the good of the country" that Democrats could have worked with him on?

And why did the Republicans not advance such a plan in the period they controlled both houses?

Could Republicans have delivered healthcare reform more quickly by working with Obama instead of throwing an 8-year tantrum?

If it were up to Obama personally, I'm sure we'd already be enjoying elementary benefits of universal healthcare. But, politically, Obama knew he couldn't do that. He'd be condemned as a "socialist" and a "communist" -- AND a "fascist" all at the same time -- so he did what he could do.

The GOP became the party of "No! Obstructing Obama every step of the way.

As far as the working stiffs are concerned Republican plan stays the same - do not get sick, pay in, die. They love it.

That was not the question.

Do try to stay on topic.

Trump would have to have brought something to the table for the Democrats to work with. Between his statement "I didn't know health care would be so hard" and the Republicans' "Back to the Past" and "Just Die Already and save us Money" plan, the chance of any Republicans voting for a single payer plan are about as good as me winning the next MegaMillions Lottery Drawing.

It takes two to Tango.

Dems could have brought a compromise proposal to Trump just as easily as vise versa.

And Dems are the ones who actually want universal healthcare, so logically it would be on them to initiate any such arrangement.
