Why should McConnell waste the Senate's time with more witnesses? Pelosi & the gang said their evidence is indisputable and overwhelming. If they have that strong a case, then present it to the Senate and take a vote.

What if Pelosi waits till the fall of 2020 to introduce the articles of impeachment to the senate, in order to impact the election. Legally, could she actually do that?

Possibly...if so a very good move until she gets the documents/witnesses that Moscow Mitch & Repubs are not providing...as well as seeing the framework/guidelines of what McConnell plans to do. More damming info on other current Trump lawsuits coming out daily as well as well as those dreaded tax returns.

The House Democrats look at Pelosi as a Monarch, so she can pretty much get away with anything till they lose power in this upcoming election. That kind of action would be worthy of any Representative being removed from the House, but they House Democrats will ensure that she would never face that kind of repercussion unless the Republicans managed a supermajority which is unlikely.

In short, her only punishment for her abuse of power and obstruction of justice will be the Democrats getting destroyed in the upcoming election leading to her losing her role as speaker for the last time.

They should make a deal, the Senate will allow for all manner of witnesses and whatnot just as soon as the House passes legitimate and specific impeachment articles that involve actual crime or PROVEN wrongdoing.

Have you any idea how much this confirms the absolute partisan nature of what they did? First take the vote to impeach and then spend the next year looking for the evidence to support that vote?

McConnell isn't blocking anything. He said he wants the trial to be conducted just like Clinton's was, where both sides present their case, and then the senate votes to decide what happens next.

All 100 senators agreed to those rules for the Clinton impeachment.

The Trump administration was only invited to the one hearing where college professors were testifying, there were no fact witnesses to question.

Also, they invited the Trump administration just two days before the hearing, didn't tell them who the witnesses were, and the hearing was scheduled on a day that they were in Europe for a NATO meeting.

Nobody, and I mean nobody (including you) believe the House impeachment process was fair.

Moscow Mitch McConnell not partisan?! There is a reason why he doesn't want any witnesses (Bolton, Mulvaney, etc.) without any documents...it will hurt Trumps case greatly. If there is nothing to hide, then let Bolton, Mulvaney in and not run a Kangaroo court! Not all of the information/witnesses came out in the Trump Impeachment trial...more will continue to come out day by day...regardless of withholding witnesses and documents...
