Volunteer Church security team members made up from church members. So the church itself deserves credit for setting up this program.

Security team did their job.

That doesn't support the argument we should all conceal and carry.......

I don't object to conceal and carry.

Just saying -- security team doing their job doesn't support the argument for it.

Until we can figure out how to limit gun access to criminals, churches, schools, communities, individuals may need to have more guns to protect themselves.

The "security team" are just average parishioners. Just church members that decided to responsibly carry a firearm in case they needed it to protect themselves and others. So don't DISHONESTLY try to spin it that the church hired a "security team" for protection. These were average folks.

Nobody is saying that people that don't want to carry should carry. Just stop the squirming.

The heroic shooter is running for county commissioner - his slogan: Make sure your vote is on target

I'm pretty sure he's going to win by a landslide.

(Interesting bit from the article: shooter had on a fake beard. It's also still VERY strange we don't know the identity yet.)

It's sad, but I'm glad the church was willing to set up an organized protection program for their members.

This was not an incidence where church members just jumped up out of their pews and shot the guy like most of the people in this thread seem to think.

Default Texas Shooting: Good Guy With Gun Take Down Bad Buy With Gun @ Church

It's a good thing that church had some members who were prepared. Otherwise, the carnage could have been much worse.

So sad that paces of worship have become targets for psychos bent on creating havoc.

Even an old atheist like me sees this as madness.

!
But perhaps keeping the butt-hole suspect/shooter who had been "arrested multiple times in different municipalities" (CNN) IN JAIL may have prevented this, though. That right there is the problem.

Exactly. Average folks, protecting themselves and others due to exercising their natural right of self defense with a firearm. Other churches, synagogues, and SCHOOLS need to take notice.

^^^^This. These are often repeat offenders with multiple FELONIES including gun charges, yet are back on the street in no time to commit MORE VIOLENT CRIME. Yet big city Democrats keep doing this!
