And that was a huge jump for the younger crowd.

Tech industry workers tend to have college degrees. People with college degrees vote at a much higher rate than those without.

In 2018, 66% voter turnout for those with a 4 year degree and a whopping 74% turnout for those with an advanced degree. (per your census.gov link above)

Don't you get tired of being wrong all the time?
Not a single thing you posted here made me wrong. I said Dems gained 19 seats since 2010. That is correct.

FOr some reason you moved the goal post and then pretend others are wrong.

No reason to make the courts redraw them. The silly thing about the democratic bots is they think the democrats DON"T try to redraw districts in their favor. LMAO If you actually believe the left isn't trying to gain an advantage then you're just lying to yourself.
Your belief that Dems gerrymander as well does not in anyway affect that argument that Texas is gerrymandered by Republicans now.

No different than when repubs claim democrats are the ones who vote illegally. Both parties do it.
No, they dont. What state do you believe is gerrymandered in favor of Dems ? The only example anyone ever gives is Maryland, but that isnt true. IN fact, Maryland is gerrymandered in favor of allowing republicans to keep the one seat it has. The majority Republican areas of that state dont have enough population independently to elect a Republican.

I didn't move the goal post. That's just another thing you've made up. It's not turning purple and you have no proof since I just shot your silly cherry picked 1 data point down.

No doubt a greater chance of doing it since it's a red state. And blue states have a greater chance of doing it in the dems favor.

LOL Not that's not why democrats did it in Maryland. As if democrats want more republicans. That is one of the dumbest comments I've read on this forum.

MD - the 6th Congressional district that by Republican Roscoe Bartlett This is culturally more akin to West Virginia or central Pennsylvania than it is to the Maryland of the Baltimore-Washington nexus.

As Mother Jones describes it, “Democrats added a strange-looking appendage to the district, reaching all the way down into the affluent Washington DC, suburbs to scoop up Democratic voters. More than 360,000 people were moved out of the district, and nearly as many were moved in. It went from solidly Republican to reliably Democratic; the Cook Political Report identified it as the biggest district swing in the country.”

New Mexico - "The likely Democratic gubernatorial nominee in New Mexico, Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham, is telling supporters that one selling point for her leaving Congress to run for governor is that “you would be in charge of redistricting.”

Yes but that is a sub group of that 36%. How many tech workers do you think are actually moving into the state? You don't think that a majority of those moving into the state are tech workers do you? That's just a very small number.

Article from July 2019 says San Antonio lost tech workers in 2018 still up overall from 5 years ago

San Antonio lost more than 1,000 tech workers last year — from 31,180 to 30,170 — according to the study and it dropped one spot in rank to No. 47. The report draws data from surveys conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Over the last five years [San Antonio is] up by 4,000 tech workers,”

Could be going to Austin. Semms like that city is getting them

Not true! The NC legislature lost their Republican super-majority and with the redrawing of the congressional maps, will become even more blue in the next election. I'm helping to turn it blue as well! Give it a couple more election cycles and it will be more like your Virginia than you might imagine!

Gaining young, college-educated transplants is probably good for the economy. Texas has below average educational attainment and a high poverty rate, so I suspect they will (statistically) start doing better thanks to the newcomers.

No one claims it IS purple or blue. But it's factual that it is headed in that direction.

Basically, if you take Fox reporting and claim the opposite of it you will be closer to correct.

As an example, recent Texas polling showed Trump and Biden tied. Now think about that. It should be 2 to 1. But they are tied.

Even Warren polls at 44% against Trump - again, a number which wouldn't even have been close before.

Putting it in perspective, GW got 60% in Texas against a Southerner and long term Senator (Al Gore) from TN.

So for Warren to get 44% or Biden to tie Trump is a BIG move.

One can find anything they desire in individuals. I know some CA. escapees who are gun nuts and ultra-conservative. That's why they left...although one ran back after experiencing Florida weather and pollution.

I'm sure Fox can interview many people in Texas who will confirm their bias. That's exactly how the science of propaganda works.

In the end, other than size, Texas does not differ from Virginia or Colorada. Same dynamics at play but they will take longer to play out due to population and the rabidity of some of the populace.
Gosh, you sure do know your "stuff". I learn something from almost every post of yours. Thanks.

Those who flee Liberal areas seems to be the moderates and conservatives who can no longer take living in the environment that Lib policies creates. The Libs stay because they dont see anything as being terribly wrong.
