NOT alerting allies ( also have assets in the region), is a precursor that will negate any response by NATO allies like they did after 9/11 attack ( Article 5). If that is the reason why Trump killed him, then why didn't he come out and say that in 2016 when he was running, that he was going to punish Iran for killing US soldiers, rather than telling everyone who would listen that he won't escalate things in the Middle East like Obama did?

US Presidents control troop movements and are murdering innocents and terrorizing in the Middle East. We should not go to war unless there is a declaration of war.
