When was the last time the USA was not involved in a war? And if there is a war with Iran, it would be desert storm V 2.0. Like playing a video game set on easy. And they know it, which is why any response made will be a mere annoyance, not worthy of a dignified response or retaliation from us. But if they cross the line, all bets at off, because Trump is not playing around. Iran may very well become the world's newest and largest parking lot.
Once Iran develops its nuclear bombs you can bet they won't be shy about using them on us the way Kim is. Those Iranians are crazy in a suicidal sort of way.
You are sadly naive if you think killing one person will bring peace to the Middle East or extricate the US from further involvement in the region, which was what Trump promised everyone when elected. He didn't lie to America did he?
I bet you didn't say that when Bin Laden was killed.
And I thought everyone agreed that we've made a mess of things over there for the past 50 years? Clearly those previous administrations failed to achieve the results they had hoped for so maybe it's time for a new approach and quit trying to tame the tiger and just shoot it between the eyes.
The short form of what you just wrote is that it's time to go in a different direction without regard for the negative outcomes and blame the previous administrations if your choice of action is a failure. That was how the partisans depicted the 2003 invasion of Iraq. They blamed it all on Papa Bush for not finishing the job.
Rand Paul said Trump's decision to tear up the Iran nuclear agreement, place a significant and severe embargo on Iran, then kill one of their top generals has made the U.S. less safe.
"Nobody in their right mind would actually think that would lead to negotiation."
Asymmetric warfare is a fancy word for saying that we invaded a country with a significant ethnic population that we don't have enough ground forces to subdue or hold. In those cases, a guerilla movement with political support of the population arises in opposition to the foreign occupation, such as in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, and others. The US-British-Israeli solution is to form a weak divided placeholder government and form a military comprised of a different ethnic and tribal composition to police those areas where the insurgency is strongest.
Words like terrorists are used to make moral and emotional appeals to the US public. The reality is that one side is the invader that wishes to appropriate the resources of the occupied nation and there is significant public opposition to the looting (see the 100 rules by Bremer's CPS when the US invaded Iraq).
Trump just stated that Iraq won't be allowed to run their own country.
When running your own country means using it for terror or war or allowing it to be used in that manner, no, it won't be allowed to do so.
