I might be wrong of course.
Perhaps, trump was told to restrain his pie hole until the US has a chance to assess the damage and if US lives were lost

I always wondered what Rand looked like in college. With that mass of curls, did he wear it shoulder length and belong to a heavy metal band?

Trump really has no way to lose here.

Nearly all of Iran's missiles hit nothing. Either their capabilities are really deficient or they are just putting on a show for their people and afraid to actually do damage.

And either Trump gets credit for showing restraint or a chance to actually degrade Iranian military capabilities (take out a naval base, take out missile sites, etc).

And you know this how?

The number of U.S. troops stationed at Irbil and al-Asad is unknown, but both bases are known to house American commandos. The al-Asad base also houses some U.S. aviation assets. U.S. Central Command and the Pentagon have not confirmed if there are any American casualties.
