Obama had to ship them the released funds, as there was no way to electronically send it. There was no way to convert electronic money into real money if their banks didn't have the ability to. Understand? All they got back was their own money.
.... and there was no need to give it to them at all. That's the point.
My guess? Trump comes out and says they are weak, and does no damage to American Troops as far as lives lost. His restraint totally catches Iran by surprise , he comes out once again on top.
I might be wrong of course.
Perhaps, trump was told to restrain his pie hole until the US has a chance to assess the damage and if US lives were lost

Trump really has no way to lose here.
Nearly all of Iran's missiles hit nothing. Either their capabilities are really deficient or they are just putting on a show for their people and afraid to actually do damage.
And either Trump gets credit for showing restraint or a chance to actually degrade Iranian military capabilities (take out a naval base, take out missile sites, etc).
No US lives were lost, no infrastructure was damaged, no assets were lost... Sucks to be you ... Good to be an American...
And you know this how?
