Sen. Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that Congress was only presented with “generalities” in their briefing from national security officials today about the motive behind the killing of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani.

“There was no specific information given to us of a specific attack. I didn’t learn anything in the hearing that I hadn’t seen in a newspaper already. None of it was overwhelming that X was going to happen," he said.
Paul insisted that he still likes President Trump but said that no one person should determine whether the country goes to war.

“It’s a tug of war and Congress should assert themselves and say, ‘The war-making power was given to us,'” he said.

In response to comments from Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham who questioned Paul and Sen. Mike Lee’s patriotism for backing the Iran War Powers resolution, Paul called it a “gutter type of response.”

Anyone else think Trump was hopped up on some substance or another today? Some viewers counted up to 58 audible sniffs during his delivery, which also included several mispronounced simple words and a lot of breathlessness, especially at the beginning, plus a few bizarre tongue thrusts (some think this is to adjust his slipping dentures). Not a very presidential presentation.
Big time.

Versus what, the zero attacks before it?

Disagree, the missiles shot did about zero damage, zero injuries, and it was a good call by Iran to thump its chest a little for the domestic crowd, and a good deescalation point for the US to act upon.

Those 52 targets were and maybe still are with updates, lock and loaded into the fire control in the nearby battle group, if those missiles would have caused considerable damage and/or casualties.

the liberal media is playing this up like how wonderful Iran is....for missing on purpose

I don't believe that for one minute....firing missiles at a US base the risk was too great...too costly...and could have triggered total annihilation coming back at them

..they gave it their best shot....and made ant hills...your friend is 100% right

and when they saw what they didn't do...all of a sudden it's "we won't fire any more if you don't fire back at us"

Iran has never had a chance to field test their ballistics before...it was a rude awakening..they can't hit squat

Yep. Best to save those 52 targets for later, in case the Iranians start acting up again.
