We will never have anyone like the Murrow Boys again. This is a fascinating and detailed blog, if you care to read. I love history.

I've read articles from the New York Times that were written during World War II. The paper reported the news as accurately and as bias-free as they could, yet they still presented themselves as an American newspaper, one that regarded Japan and Germany as enemies and wanted this country to be victorious.

Sadly, the Times doesn't seem to be all that pro-America any more. Quite the opposite, actually.

Still, I gather there was some fine, brave reporting during Vietnam.

A friend is urging me to read this:

Citizens of London: The Americans Who Stood with Britain in Its Darkest, Finest Hour
https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/b...y-lynne-olson/

Two names you probably know, and one you likely don't: John Gilbert Winant.

All skels and hacks with an agenda now.
I wouldn’t, and don't trust any news outlet anymore. None. Zero. Zilch.
There's no more unbiased fact based middle ground anymore. It's all right or all left, and that's it. Screw them all. These hacks are destroying our country.

So, that should be a good thing. It would be a bad thing for a newspaper to blindly support its government even when it was in the wrong.

Possibly they were pro-America then, because America was more honorable then, so it was easy to support.

These aren't articles. They are actual events and accounts of the people who were there and reported it.

Journalism is a political issue days with people claiming fake news. I'm just pointing out it didn't used to be this way.

Well, today 'journalism' is mostly just a tool for the tyrannical Govt, in which to condition and brainwash the public into the mindset Govt wants them to be in...( I think this may be a big factor in the number of mass shootings for instance).

It was more honorable. Liberals have ruined America and taken it far, far left from the days of WW2.
