There are two of us who've worked in Saudi Arabia for decades here on CD, so we've seen it from the inside for decades. With his net worth, his saving accounts were global as Saudi Arabian citizens pay no taxes thus no requirement to say where their money is (unlike the US which requires every American citizen to list any bank accounts they have abroad). The other Saudi Arabians who were university educated also came from families with money and thus they also had foreign accounts. As to Yemen, you left out the fact that Iran has been supplying the Houthi rebels (an insurgent force that seized the Yemeni capital) with guided missiles (not rockets) that were fired out into Saudi Arabia. Iran has also supplied them with drones. Yemen for being a very poor country has some extremely high end armaments.
And the Japanese fleet were actually cruise ships coming to Hawaii for a vacation.
