The Iranians themselves have called this an act of war.

If this becomes a war, is pretty much anyone's guess. What's certain is killing a top general of their regime could easily provoke a war, and anyone saying it surely won't is lying. So what Trump did is engaging in chicken with their regime. And what for? Little incidents mostly in Iraq, where we shouldn't be in anymore.

Speaking of the 2 administrations:

This is what Trump inherited as he came into office:

1.ISIS was practically defeated
2. Iraq was our ally
3. The Kurds were our allies
4. Iran had stopped enriching uranium and was fully complying with inspections, as verified by Rex Tillerson
5. The Middle East was starting to show signs of stabilizing and hints of democracy arising
6. The USA was at a negotiated peace with Iran where diplomacy could begin
7. The people of Iran were demonstrating against their theocratic regime

Purely due to Trump incompetence and spite, we now have:

1. ISIS resurging
2. Iraq expelling the US and allying with Iran
3. What is left of the Kurds hating us
4. Iran enriching uranium again
5. The Middle East in turmoil again and going in the wrong direction
6. Iran at war with the USA and no diplomacy possible
7. A new Middle East war looming
8. The people of Iran are united against us and behind their theocratic regime.

So much winning.

Wag the dog.

Both Bushes gave us failed wars and the highest oil prices. Bush one with his failed war in 1991 and highest oil prices back then. Bush 2 with two failed wars and the highest oil prices ever until what is to come with higher prices not very far off. Time to stay out of the ME area or just gas the whole area and kill them all.

Obama gave Iran 150 billion dollars to use to fund terrorists.

Polar opposite!

How many has Trump killed in drone strikes?

Obama 5000+

Several American citizens without warrants and without congressional approval.

WAS THAT OKAY WITH YOU?

Of course it was!
Selective outrage is a morons code.

NOTHING the left can say will FIX the history of facts.

YOU LOST, YOU WILL LOSE, DONE!

PULLEEZE .... you lefties were screaming when Trump wanted to pull troops out of Syria .....

I don’t know if its hypocrisy or just mental illness.

Now that the Iraqi Gov’t has called for expelling US forces, the subsequent return of our troops will be another reason for the left to whine and moan

It was not okay for Obama to initiate regime-change wars, it was not okay for him to launch drone strikes that killed countless civilians, and it is not okay for Trump to do any of that now. Don't whitewash this assassination attempt, or you're as guilty as the reflexive Obama defenders who justified everything he did simply because he had a likable personality. This assassination is clearly an act of war.

Of course war with Iran is a terrible idea, we have everything to lose, our country is thriving economically, Iran is a country with nothing to lose, 50% inflation rate and a crumbling economy. Why risk it all for a country that has very little relevance on a global level. Get us out of the Middle East and let the people in the region decide their fate.

Its what the cheerleaders for Trump are failing to understand. Killing the Iranian general was an absolutely idiotic strategic move. Paired with the fact that he soured our relationship with the Kurds a few months back. If he insists on staying in Iraq and risking war, America would be at conflict with almost every faction in the region with no allies. The biggest winner in all this is Iran.
