It is really sad to see so many Americans seem to be ok with destroying historic cultural sites. So many ignorant people. This thinking is more in line with groups such as the Taliban than a civilized society.

If this is true, it wouldn't surprise me. There are individuals who would cheer Trump on. There are those who have the perspective of "those people are savages and need to be bombed to the stone age".
True, but you should think smarter than caveman ideas. Destroying cultural sites in Iran will help enable decades of extremists by terrorist organizations to attack you, your children and your grandchildren. It will even turn "normal" people into extremists.

That would require open mindedness. Neither Trump or his followers seem interested in broad and long termed strategies.
They thought the guy heading their terrorist outreach program would be safe because the US has always allowed him to be safe no matter how many terror attacks he plans and helps carry out.
They recently found out the hard way that Trump is not Obama and that no terrorist is safe even if given a title of "General". Now he's making threats that would seem impossible if any other person were making them.....but since it's Trump, they can't be certain. He really might do it, so they have to reconsider their plans to escalate the situation.

Or bombing a country into the stone age killing multiple thousand civilians?Destroying churches, hospitals, colleges etc along the way... I am on the record saying we should completely remove ourselves from the Persian Gulf region, barring that if we should have to go to war again we should fight like FDR and Truman did.....

In fact Trump wanted it sent to senate ASAP, the only side that would benefit from distraction would be democrats.
The only reason for the agreement is because of how partisan Congress is currently. If you really believe the impeachment is a failure you are not paying attention. As far as trump wanting it passed to the senate ASAP that was because he knew McConnell and his junkyard dogs would squash it ASAP.
This debate is ridiculous. While Trump's tweet was equivocal as usual, and the media jumped all over it as usual, Esper has already confirmed that no world heritage sites will be targeted. That's a good thing. Even the idea that a site like Ifsahan could be destroyed is worthy of condemnation.
