After all the claims that he had no case and CNN wouldn't settle....we now get back-pedaling that it's meaningless.
Sorry folks, there has been a lot of partisanship around the topic but if you set that aside the journalism was reckless and demonizing with no attempt to get the other side of the story before running with it.
He was also a minor and not famous, additional excuses thrown out as if he were fair game like whomever is president always is.
"...an 8 figure blow to CNN's brand..." i.e. "bad press", i.e. Cernovich is taking a WAG about the dollar amount associated with the actual settlement, plus any damage to the brand that can impact revenue generation in the future.
There is nothing wrong with the poster’s reading comprehension, you simply have a different interpretation of the first sentence. I am more inclined to think the other poster interpreted the tweeter’s meaning correctly, that the tweeter meant Sandman got an eight figure settlement and it will hurt the reputation of all entities that base their credibility on falling under the CNN umbrella (in other words, they are part of the CNN brand), such as HLN, CNN on-line, and various anchors/commentators.

The indian group sent them a video and gave their side of the story.
Hate to tell you but that was real.
It wasn't until the rest of the real video surfaced that we found out that the students were the ones that were confronted and then the indian group began telling a different story.
So, call it what you want but it was bad journalism coupled with horrendous personal commentary by CNN talking heads and zero effort to get the other side of the story before running with it.
The most interesting part of this thread is how all the leftists insist the settlement was small. Why? Why would you say that? How on earth would you have any idea but more importantly, WHY do you want it to be small? Do you not see how messed up that is? You want the guy, (the KID) who was lied about and whose life was possibly ruined to not get much? WHY? Because the whole thing doesn't fit your narrative about how unbiased your media outlets are and how they lie. Why do Democrats always say things they could have NO WAY of knowing? Like Epstein didn't kill himself or there is no deep state? You guys are so predictable but not logical AT ALL.

They are just running propaganda interference for their heroes.

If your, and his/her, interpretation is correct, why the need to mention that this will "be brought up every time CNN attacks someone"? Referencing future impacts bolsters my position, not yours.
You guys are reading what you want to read, not what is actually there.
I don't believe for a second that the settlement was $100M+.
Also, how/why would Cernovich know anything about the settlement? He's pulling this straight out of his rectal orifice, which is his SOP.
