If you really believe this we can play a history re-writing game in which we re-evaluate the world’s most historical moments based on your wobbly premise here. Just think of how we can apply your logic to a million other situations:

It’s the US’s fault for building buildings so easy to fly planes into.

Princess Diana’s death is Mercedes Benz’s fault for building a car unable to withstand impact.

JFK died because that stupid Cadillac driver put the top down.

Reagan’s assassination attempt is the fault of his scheduler who put him in that place at that time.

Missing Malaysian flights are the fault of Human Resource recruiters who did a bad job recruiting pilots.

Jesus, we can go all day long here! Burn those history books, kids ... it’s time for a History Redeaux!

There was no fight going on. Only the Iranians were shooting that night. Why they deliberately left their largest civilian airport open while they were shooting is a rather obvious question....

(Doubtlessly there are some - including Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and a few oddball US Democratic politicians - who would like to blame the US for the civilian deaths in Iran that night. Don't think the world is gonna buy that nonsense.)

There was no fight. Just a reaction to an attack on our military base and embassy. An strategic attack that eliminated the threat, period.

Those families could have been paid with the billions that Obama released to the Iranians.

It just boggles my mind that some here actually want to pin this downed airliner on president Trump. Who was it that fired the SAM again?

Iran is totally willing to kill hundreds of innocent people if they think they can use the deaths as propaganda. Like the airliner the Navy splashed back in the 80s. Turns out the Iranians had put an IFF from a warplane in it.

But this was just complete incompetence. A SAM site that was soiling itself about a US strike that wasn't happening. TDS is quite real it seems.

Iranians said it was mistaken for a military bomber because it turned toward a sensitive military instillation.

This plane was what? Two minutes off the end of the runway?

That is pretty close. I am smart enough not to buy a home near the end of a runway anywhere near a flight path if I do not want to be bothered with commercial jets flying over all the time.

Who is dumb enough to build a sensitive military installation at the end of a commercial runway flight path and not know passenger jets are going to fly over?

Iranians I guess.
