That's what struck me. OP is somehow threatened by what someone ELSE drives. I don't even get that. If you want a big-ass car, then buy one. Nobody is stopping you.
I was just thinking what an awesome time it is for vehicles now. Couple fun facts:
*you can buy a 700+HP car, off the lot, for under $100k
*ALL cars today are more spacious than their earlier counterparts. Hell, more room in a 2020 Civic than a 1990 Malibu or a Grand Prix
*Small cars today are WAY safer than yesterday's big cars. (OP is wrong to be crying about safety)
*My 4-banger Mazda 3 can probably beat my buddies 68 Trans-Am Convertible (Small Block 350, I think) off the line. If not, it can give it a great run for the money.
*Mind boggling that you can get a 300HP car, that gets 30 MPG, for about $30k (eg: Mustang)
OP, I don't know what the hell you're blathering about today, but the fact that I want to save some money with my daily driver seems to really trigger you. I don't really understand how me picking a car that suits my needs threatens you, but whatever. Not my problem. (my fun car gets worse MPG, if it makes you feel better, or if the fact that I have a spare car "just for fun" makes you feel better, there's that)
I will laugh my ass to sleep tonight with the thought that people like you think that everyone else is the snow-flake. Hahahahahahaha
Idk. Seems like OP got under your skin. Otherwise why make this post?? Trying to convince OP or yourself?
Humans are like locust, they will never see a problem until all the greenery is gone. Intelligence is a dubious evolutionary development as far as survival.
My 4-ton Superduty crew cab crushes small vehicles. Most small vehicles stay clear. I can see over and past toy cars in front of me in the event there’s a problem up ahead. Small vehicles can be fun to drive until you collide with a 4 ton pickup.

Not an issue. We have neighbors that keep a boat or storage in their garages and have a plug for the EV next to the garage door, on the outside. They just park close to the garage. We can see the blue light on at night.
^^^ Ditto this....I find bigger cars difficult to drive. Plus in New England the roads can sometimes be narrow. A former boyfriend had a thing for 1970 Cadillacs (he had three of them) and I hated driving them. I've had Priuses since 2004 and have been very happy with them. Blanket statements like "Americans prefer X always strike me as absurd because statements like that imply it applies to everyone, which can't be true of any preference.
