Poll: Americans Say Trump's Soleimani Assassination Makes America Less Safe, Trump "Reckless" 52-34
Meh .... Only about 1/3 of Americans vote - 130M out of 320M. So it doesn't matter what "Americans" think.
Likely voters will likely reelect Trump.

Only 1% of Americans knew who Soleimani was before the missile nailed him. The press very rapidly filled the rest of them in and told them what to think of it.

Which pole was that? The North or South? We should have a dumbest thread of the week poll.

That is true, and he never executed or plotted any terrorist hits in US.

Maybe the question should not have been about American being safe, but US forces in Iraq being safe, and based on the recent attacks that is not the case.

We are also less safe if this mess escalates beyond this tit-for-tat stuff we have seen so far.

I agree that this was simply an election year stunt and Trump hasn't made a compelling case otherwise. We attacked and killed 25 militia, wounding Iraqi Soldiers, and police. Iraqis get upset and that prompts an orchestrated protest at the Baghdad US embassy (that was fully expecting it) and protesters damage entrance and reception buildings before we use tear gas and flares to drive them away...a great media event. Against advice, Trump orders that we kill off the top Iranian general in retaliation (Although we have never gone to war over any of the 24 other global embassy attacks since 2000) and we send 3000 troops to the middle east with a lot more media coverage. Iran carefully tosses a few missiles into Iraqi bases housing US troops avoiding any US casualties and a few small rockets into the Green Zone: a subdued response. Trump declares victory and imposes new sanctions on Iran. Unfortunately for him, the American people know what he is up to and holds him responsible.

Excellent post, thoughtful and well-reasoned.

USAtoday? The comic book of newspapers is what the OP is using as a source?

The guy was killing Americans by proxy. What kind of idiot living here legally thinks that is ok? Jesus H. I can't even believe there are people on that side of the fence. F them and any other American hating POS that is ok with that. Maybe Canada is a better choice for these types. I don't want to insult anyone from Canada so sorry.
