Why does it matter which party it is? Did you notice Trump claimed he killed Soleimani because he was blackmailed on impeachment. Notice the Democrats are now forwarding the article of impeachment to the Republican senate so he can be 'exonerated' or blackmailed one more time before the rigged outcome. One party held it up until he did the deed. And the other party will do away with it. People need to wake up or grow up.

Because the Democrats are on the side of the Dictators which the people are protesting against. The very dictators that fired on that plane. The very dictators that Obama & Biden along with Kerry gave Billions to. That's why.
Potentially concerning news for Democrat allies, to make matters worse, the guy they usually turn to when they need thousands of their own citizens murdered was killed by the evil orange man in retaliation for the attack on the US embassy in Iraq.
Hopefully they'll find a way to bounce back.
If it was up to the Democrats, the Baghdad embassy would be like another Benghazi, and Soleimani would have been allowed to grow stronger and stronger as a terrorist like Osama bin Laden. Remember after the embassy attacks in Africa, Bill Clinton refused to get serious about going after Osama, and al-Qaeda was allowed to grow.
He stands with the people of Iran by placing punishing sanctions on them?
The sanctions are focused upon the leadership. Their foreign assets are frozen, the ability for them and their family to travel out of the Country. Any family they have outside Iran and watched and harassed, and their movements inhibited.
Their ability to move military assets in/out of the country are curtailed. Pressure is brought on those who trade in military equipment with Iran. Seizing shipments that might contain military equipment/parts.
Even Amazon and Ebay accounts are frozen to prohibit the Iranian leaders from purchasing luxury goods via the Internet.
Its impossible to avoid impacting the general Iranian public, but great measures are taken to minimize the hardships they feel. We continue to allow Iran to trade some oil so its citizens will not starve to death.
