I’d be very careful and avoid like the plague shooting anyone in NYC, unless you want to get bankrupted by some shyster lawyer.

Ah, here we go Calipoppy. You don't need a permit for a handgun in your home or business in PA. So people can buy a gun without needing an "outcry.
It is very hard to get a handgun permit in NYC, hence the outcry in trying to remedy the situation.

Here you can look up the laws for each state.

I would not want to live in New York City. At one time I did think about it (I have many memories of watching the TV show Ghostwriter). As I've hit 30 (I'm 33 now), New York City doesn't have much of an appeal to me anymore. Too expensive, too exhausting of a place to live. Some of the strictest gun laws in the USA don't help either. Stop and Frisk also ruined NYC for me as well, as I'm a Black man and that strategy might get used on me.

I can open carry in my state so it isn't a personal concern

How about moving to the city that I live in: Phoenix, AZ?

Guess what? Nobody attacked Jewish people at Charlottesville. And Virginia used to be a free state, you could get a carry permit there with a modest amount of effort. Both of those cases are not true in the People's Republic of NY.

You don't need a "gun permit" in PA unless you want to conceal carry in which case it's shall issue. If a Jew in Pittsburgh decided they wanted a gun they only need to go buy one. In NYC it can take months and includes such hurdles as $450 non refundable processing fee. Very few people have them issued. As already noted mostly the rich and politically connected.

Based on your statements:

Why are you anti gun?

Yes, you can open carry without an LTCF (license to carry a firearm) EXCEPT in Philadelphia. However, you can not transport that firearm in a car unless going to the range, gun shop, or home without an LTCF, so getting to wherever you are going to Open Carry will be a problem if you don't have an LTCF in PA.
