Every single Jim Crow was passed by a democratic legislature. Every single one. The republicans didn't gain control of the Southern Congress until the early 1990s.

Democrats were the party of Jim Crow and slavery in 1865. Who is the most likely to complain about Black people and champion for the Confederate flag? Republicans, especially in the South. Who called for abolishing every amendment after the 10th (one of those amendments abolished slavery)? Roy Moore, an Alabama Republican.
Northern Democrats didn't elect Lincoln in 1864, but they voted for the Civil Rights Act in 1964. No Southern Republican did.
