Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos caught flak on social media over the weekend after announcing the company would donate $1 million Australian dollars (around $690,000 USD) to the wildfire crisis.
“Our hearts go out to all Australians as they cope with these devastating bushfires,” Bezos wrote on his Instagram account. “Amazon is donating 1 million AU dollars in needed provisions and services.”
Good for him. At least he isn't a radical climate denier. That does the most damage aside from the destruction itself.
Nobody denies that climate changes. We just don't want extreme taxation and more income and wealth redistribution using MAN as an EXCUSE for the changes in the weather. Do you want $12/gallon gasoline and to pay three or four times the amount to heat and cool your home? Do you want ALL products and services to be much more expensive? Well that's what you will get.

I accept man-made global warming but some of the wild claims, initiatives and so forth are disingenuous and ineffective, often being used by companies and politicians to line pockets more than solve problems.
Furthermore, I accept that much of the world refuses to participate so the US is not going to move the needle at all by throwing itself on the sword.
Sadly, if you've paid attention to global politics the past century the logical position is that this is something we will have to solve with technology because herding cats and the impact of rampant corruption and cheating is even worse on the global stage than in the US...making a political solution futile.

Can I copy this and quote it in every climate change thread going forward? Completely agree.
glad to see he donated...the people that get the most upset with this, gave nothing.
