Warren will bypass Congress to relief 1 trillion dollars in student debt. This sounds great huh?

Both Warren and Sanders, who has proposed eliminating all student loan debt, for anyone who owes a student loan, have introduced legislation in Congress to carry out their respective plans. Overall, more than 45 million Americans collectively owe some $1.6 trillion in outstanding student loan debt.

This shouldn't happen.

People should not going to expensive colleges and then demanding the debt be wiped out, all the while complaining how it's "not fair" that their parents didn't pay for their education.

Cancelling debt means money must be spent to pay the lenders. You can't do that without Congress.

Agreed.

I sacrificed for years to pay off my $50K in school loans.

Big Chief Warren is working harder to buy votes than Andy Yang. I hope the people reject this welfare mentality. Cancel student loans today and there will be even more student loan debt racked up. Great way to enable irresponsible behavior.

Yes, the student “loan” program was the greatest financial gift in history to the .edu crowd. Take one look at their salaries and subsequent pensions and you’ll see why 99% of them back big-government candidates.

Did those parents need a college degree to be an administrative assistant?

How politics work: at some point after Warren is elected, she makes it clear she is dead serious and there is momentum behind the movement, the big lenders will come to the table and reach an agreement with Warren. All the Republican politicians in the pockets of the lenders will go along and she will get a somewhat watered down but still relevant agreement to lower student loan debt.
