Don't laugh. Global warming (and liberalism in general) is a suicide cult that reaches that ultimate outcome in achieving a "state of grace" in the religion of liberalism.
Sacrificing animals (or humans) is to be expected of these loons, who will continue to escalate their level of insanity to those ends.
Global Warming has noting to do with this. It is a local infrastructure problem. It will also involve feral horses and other large animals. They are depleting both water sources and grass areas as well as damaging property in their search for water.
We've got a pretty poor record on animals, I'll grant you that, mainly from clearing of habitat and other crap we've done to the environment.
But I do take issue with you saying we don't have great regard for animal life, unfortunately a lot of the destruction was wrought long ago and one of the greatest threats to native animals in Australia are introduced species such as feral cats, pigs and foxes. Just like a lot of other countries that had European settlement. Australia's natural ecosystem is pretty fragile and we've ruined the balance.
A lot of that was ignorance and hopefully as the old ways and the old timers die off, the old practices that made all this happen will change too. If you look at the news out of the fires, people of all sorts are rescuing wildlife and donating great sums of money to the rescue charities. As a nation, we are devastated by the loss of all those animals.
The vast majority of the fires were caused by dry lightning, contrary to popular opinion, and exacerbated by the incredibly dry fuel, as a result of the lack of rain.
Well said! I find it amazing on here that a discussion on any subject here becomes a war of left vs. right. I live in a part of CA. that had devastating wildfires recently. The only upside of it was everyone coming together to fight it and recover from it, but pretty soon there were the accusations from each side pointing fingers at the others again. Is it not possible anymore to consider that others may have a different point of view without hating them?
I go to a fairly large church that is part of a group of 3 churches in our general area. They announced this week that a portion of the combined offerings are being sent to an Australian relief fund for the fires.
